The Academic Brief provides for a phased programme of development, so that teaching accommodation, laboratories and clinical facilities are commissioned in sequence. Each facility below is identified with its phase in that programme.
A 200-bed teaching hospital established in Phase 1, providing the clinical training base for every programme of the University, with modern equipment and specialised departments.
Sited centrally on campus to facilitate access by staff and students, with seating for not less than one third of the full-time student population at any given time. The library is fully networked and its activities digitalised, with subscribed online books and journals.
Ensures the full integration of the University's management systems and technological processes in teaching, learning and research. Training in information and communications technology is mandatory for all students.
Provides students with practical entrepreneurial skills in line with NUC requirements, so that graduates are resourceful, self-reliant and able to create employment.
Coordinates and manages the students' industrial training programme, which constitutes a requirement for graduation in several programmes.
Teaching and research laboratories and workshops, supported by an Audio-Visual Unit responsible for the production of illustrations, simulations, slides and computerised models for academic programmes.
Established to facilitate teaching, learning and research in the biology-related sciences. The Botanical Garden also produces ornamentals for campus beautification.
A qualified Sports Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Sporting and Recreational Centre and for the organisation of sporting competition on campus. The facilities support the physical and mental health of staff and students.
Community service units serve members of the University; public service units are open to the University and to the general public.
